For the second year running we are delighted to be supporting the Scottish Education Awards. Taking place in Glasgow on 5 June 2019, they are an important opportunity to celebrate and recognise the achievements of Scotland's school sector.
We are proud to again sponsor the 1+2 Languages Award, which recognises schools that are doing great work to promote respect and ambition in languages and internationalism.
With much of our work dedicated to helping pupils in Scotland learn about other cultures and prepare for life in the global economy, the Award has a strong connection to our priorities.
We know that bringing an international dimension to a school can be motivational for staff and learners, and it has been shown to make a real difference in the priority areas of raising attainment, building literacy and numeracy, and helping bridge the attainment gap.
Last year's 1+2 Languages Award winner was the Larbert High School Cluster, Falkirk Council, and they were chosen from a very competitive list of nominees. We are looking forward to seeing that same high standard of entries again this time round.
Nominations for the awards close on 14 February 2019, after which the judges will be busy evaluating entries ahead of awards day on 5 June 2019.
Make sure to vist the Scottish Education Awards website for more details on this year's event, including all the other categories and the other sponsors.
